Introduction

Next month will mark the 2 year anniversary of a continuing war in Iraq. When the war started, White House Executives claimed that it would only be a matter of months until the country was liberated and disarmed.  Unfortunatly that was not the case and I, as well as many others, fail to see what exactly the United States has left to do in Iraq.  Dictator Saddam Hussein has been captured and no nuclear weapons have been found. It was our country's forces who fired the first shots and launched the first missiles. Terror? If being a terrorist means fighting back, then we have quite a few terrorists to deal with. As of today, May 26th, 1651 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq alone. This site will go in depth and explain what this war is doing to our country and to the world. It will also explain who is behind it, and my personal theories why. Terror exists because of us.

How it Effects Us

The United States economy has been suffering considerably due to this war.  And when our economy suffers, other things gotta suffer with it.  Things like the cost of school, the cost of gas and the cost to keep people throughout the world fed.  If you think that I am over exaggerating, you gotta check out this site http://costofwar.com/.  Some people think that these costs are necessary, but there is one expense that they have yet to consider.  That is the cost of life.  Every other day or so, someone who was born in our country is killed in Iraq. I can only wonder how big our budget really is!

How it Effects our Standing in the World

Imagine if you will, a country that is so wealthy and powerful, that other countries follow their ways of life and mimic their economic structure. A nation that has the power to feed thousands of poorer countries and keep thousands of people from dying of starvation and disease. A technological super-power willing to share it's innovations with allied nations. Stop imagining. This is what America could be and, at one time, was not far from. Now imagine all that power and wealth and technology, imagine it being used in a negative way. In a violent invasion, unprovoked by the occupied country. How many people could this power, that could be used to help, destroy? This is now our reality.

Because of this, how do you think OTHER nations feel about us. Are they afraid? Are they angry? Are we unliked by a lot of them? The answer to all three of these questions is YES, and there is no question why. To us, it's not all that bad, considering we live in this technological super-power. To those who live outside the box, it may appear that pandora has been set free. Which means what? What exactly does America have in store for the rest of the world? The sad thing is, most Americans don't even know the answer to that question. People in power appear to have no consideration for the rest of the world's perception of us. Because of their actions, our entire country is feared or unliked.
